Lisa Ndejuru

Lisa Ndejuru is a scholar, psychotherapist, mental health consultant, artist, and mother.A dual citizen of Rwanda and Canada, she works with community-based, non-medicalized approaches to wellness and resilience using storytelling, improvisational theatre, and other arts-based methods. She also fosters international capacity-building and collaborations related to Afro positive arts-in-health research and practice.
With the Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy, Dr. Ndejuru recently organized the online conference ‘Activating the Archives of Rwanda’s Oral Tradition.’ A diverse arts-in-health collective of Rwanda scholars, creatives, and memory workers – Icyotero – subsequently coalesced among conference participants. She currently directs the SSHRC-funded project ‘Centering Community Knowledges: Fostering Black Wellness in Montreal.’
