Florence Ewomazino Nweke

I am Dr. Florence Ewomazino Nweke, a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in Music Psychology, Education and Therapy at the Department of Creative Arts, University of Lagos, Nigeria. Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Music, Mountain Top University, Nigeria. My research interests are broad and trans-disciplinary, focusing on contemporary issues in the Arts and Humanities. My professional profile is enriched by a series of prestigious affiliations and collaborations: I am an Alumnae of the Mellon School of Theatre and Performance Research, Harvard University USA; I was a Co-Investigator in the AHRC (UK-RI) grant for COVID-19 at the UNILAG-CHSD, A  CO-I in the NAGEL Grant at Calvin University, USA; Fellow of the Global Art in Health Fellowship and I was part of a project “Building Sustainable Collaborative Networks,’ and Song-Speech Research project. I am currently in a project on young women and gender-based inequities in Africa’s Creative Sector funded by the MasterCard Foundation through the ICRW and, A National PI in the ERASMUS KA171 Research on Music, Movement, and the Mediterranean. A recipient of some travel grants awards. Such as the Gallagher Travel Grant (ASR). A professional member of SMPC, MUTAN, ISME (where I served on the Scientific Committee on Abstract Review), and ANIM. Offered certificate courses with Coursera provided by UNILAG and a NitHub UNILAG IT Course. I hold an NAU Certificate on “Arts, Armed Conflict and Humanitarian Aid” (APECV) Portugal and have completed the online course “Young People and their Mental Health” by Future Learn. I taught “The emergent conceptualization of cities: creative and smart cities. the role of art and technology in re-imagining sustainable urban futures under Course titled SUB 954: Urban Futures: 3 Units, Elective Course” at the UNILAG Centre for Housing and Sustainable Development (CHSD). An International editorial board member of the Springer Nature – for Humanities and Social Sciences Communication (HSSCOMMS) I  have read and presented academic papers at conferences on the local and international front as a convener and presenter.
