Aurelien Zouki

Aurelien Zouki is a founding member and co-artistic director of Collectif Kahraba,a performing art collective in Lebanon, Aurelien Zouki studied theatre in Paris, where he worked as an actor with different directors such as Gilles Zaeppfel, Bruno Thircuir, Jean Bellorini, and Nathalie Garraud. He has also participated in choreographic creations in different countries. In 2007, he moved back to Beirut and co-founded Collectif Kahraba, with whom he created several theatre, dance, and puppet performances that tours internationally.

Since 2011, he has also been the co-director of Nehna wel Amar wel Jiran, a free multidisciplinary outdoor festival in the public spaces organized by Collectif Kahraba. The festival is a platform of collaboration that gathers more than 20 partners and happens today in 4 decentralised cities around the country.

In parallel to his artistic activities, he conceived and co-founded with the collective Hammana Artist House a residency and cultural space in 2017, offering opportunities for artists and audience to meet, research and gather around creative practices, transmission and take part in a decentralised artistic program around the country
